During the 2022-23 season the Miami Heat supposedly are scheduled to have a regular season game in Mexico City.

Pandemic which last for about three years caused a long pause, the NBA is returning to Mexico City. The first regular-season game will be played in the capital city of the United State’s southern neighbor on December 17, 2022, between the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs according to the South Florida Sun Sentinal’s Ira Windman.
The Phoenix Suns, Detroit Pistons, and San Antonio Spurs played multiple games in the particularly high-elevation metropolis in 2019, and the Heat plays its first game in North America’s largest city since 2017, a fact picked up by then-Heat wing Dion Waiters at the time of their last visit according to Windman.
Waiters observed “I just found out it was actually bigger than New York, that’s crazy.”
The sport has become popular in Mexico more and more, at the time of the last games with NBA Mexico Raul Zarraga estimating about 20 million extent fans in the country.
Miami is one of the best teams in the league, and it’s clear the NBA is hoping to show the game to more people in the 2022-23 season. The Heat finished with the No. 1 last season, seed in the Eastern Conference, and they qualify in the Eastern Conference Finals. They ended up losing to the Boston Celtics in seven games, but the Heat have proven that they are close to winning an NBA title with two deep playoff runs in the last three seasons.
Their match with the Spurs will be more interesting one, as in a deal with the Atlanta Hawks San Antonio traded away All-Star guard Dejounte Murray this offseason.
The millions of fans in Mexico who will be watching or present at what Windman is describing as “part of the Spurs’ expansion beyond their AT&T Center home” this December almost certainly agree. The Heat and Spurs will face each other two times in the 2022-23 regular season since they play in different conferences. The other match will likely to be played in Miami at FTX Arena.
